Corvus Frugilegus...

Corvus Frugilegus...

Crows .. or more exactly rooks of course (the lighter beak is the simplest way to know a rook)

I love these smart birds and could happily watch fool around them all day long.

Did you know they can mimic human speech and learn words just as well as parrots? (Don't believe me - Google it!)

I highly recommend the wonderful book "Corvus - A Life With Birds" to change how you see both birds and crows forever.

I took this picture during a winter storm from the beach in Newhaven, East Sussex. It was wild. I was running in and out of the surf on the steep shingle beach doing my best to dodge the waves, get some pictures, and not get pulled into the ocean.
